Who am I and what is this blog all about?

Occupation: High School Math and Computer Science Teacher
Dream: To be a part of improving the US system of education for generations to come
I have been involved in formal education for 14 years and have seen with my own eyes the best and the worst that can come out of it. As a high school math and computer science teacher I try not only to teach my students the math skills they will need in the world (or on standardized tests) but how those skills are applicable every day. I also see myself as someone who can help expose them to concepts (whether mathematical or not) that might spark an interest and help drive them to achieve in the future.
I moved from Philadelphia to Brooklyn in order to expand my horizons and make a difference in Kings County. Feel free to visit my classroom and ask great questions.
